Jasper Fforde - A Brief Introduction

Hey again...
Since the title of my blog is based around one of Jasper Fforde's books, I feel that I should upload a review of one of his novels, mostly for people who are looking for information about Jasper Fforde (mislead by the title).  However, at the moment I am half-way through the final book in the 'Thursday Next' series and want to review the series as a whole, that's something for you to look forward to!
Jasper Fforde is a Welsh author, this is what originally drew me to the books, being part Welsh myself, but my love of fantasy novels also meant that I really enjoyed these books.  I hope that this has been an interesting introduction, and I am looking forward to writing a more in-depth review of the 'Thursday Next' series.
I am sorry that this is such a short entry, but I have had quite a busy week, and not much time to sit and think about what I want to write.
Please comment, tell me what you think of the books, and if you want me to review and read any others.

Box of tissues at the ready…CHECK

One of my favourite books is ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ by John Green.  It is an amazing book, but it is a tear-jerker…you have been warned! ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is a story about two teenagers who suffer from cancer, and inevitably fall in love.  If you are not one for romance novels, then this book is definitely not for you.  I read this book twice and loved every minute of it, it is beautifully written and the plot is captivating.  ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ was the first John Green book that I read, but I have now read nearly all of his books, these include ‘An Abundance of Katherines’ and ‘Looking for Alaska’.  ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is also the New York Times #1 Bestseller (so you don't need much of a recommendation from me!).  I think that the quote on the cover, from Jodi Picoult, sums up the book really well: ‘Electric…filled with staccato bursts of humour and tragedy’.

John Green is one half of the YouTube channel called ‘VlogBrothers’ (making videos with his brother Hank), they have over 1 million subscribers and have been making videos since 2007.  If you like his books I suggest you should check out their videos.

Another one of my favourite books is ‘The Book Thief’ by Marcus Zusak.  I have put this as a footnote because it is another tear-jerker.  It tells the story of a young girl living in Nazi Germany who steals books after her parents are sent to a concentration camp.  Again, this is wonderfully written and has historical references.

Please tell me if you like these books, have read them already or have any recommendations.

My First Blog Post

If you can't tell by the title, this is my first blog post.  The title of this blog comes from one of my favourite books ('Lost in a Good Book' by Jasper Fforde, part of the Thursday Next Series).  I will mostly be talking about my ever-growing collection of books, and i hope that you might find some of these reviews useful.  I fit most of my hobbies around my studies, so be prepared for the inevitable irregularity of the blog posts. Please feel free to recommend any of your favourite books (if you think i will like them), and tell me what you think of the books i recommend.  Will hopefully update soon....
